About Marcia:

Some blurb about me:

From a very young age, Marcia was sewing clothes for her doll, then when she moved to London in 1994, she went to evening classes to make soft furnishings for her home, then to university to study textiles.

I started sewing during the first Covid lockdown as a way to keep myself busy and productive, whilst still working. Little did I know that my newfound hobby would turn into a passion and a small business called Bigbagmomma.

My brand offers unique bags and accessories, baby and children's apparel, plus home interiors, that are made from pre-loved African Ankara fabrics. I am committed to sustainable fashion and eco-conscious production methods.

Bigbagmomma's creative workshops, are fun, and mindful and allow participants to think about how things are made, be less wasteful, make things by hand and get social, too.
